Greetings everyone!

Been into these trucks since I was a kid, finally found one in good condition here in Alaska and I had to pick it up. Just looking for a couple parts, like rear fenders, and possibly a replacement bedfloor section and some new paint.

I'm also interested in getting a set of 24" Semi's from Trevor, and shortening the rear axle to possibly lower it a tad.

From looking around I'm glad to see there's other people taking these old trucks and bringing them new life.

BTW, the truck has an 40k on the odometer.

No worries GOT6, Winters just around the corner I'm in no hurry to drive it. If anything it's gonna go into the body shop and slowly get repaired and parts painted.

Now the question is; Do I put 24" Semi's on it and shorten the rear axle, or go with a set of 22" TowNasty's? I'm not sure if I would like to lower the truck or not, I know I don't want to slam it so a flip kit isn't an option.

as for shortening the rearaxle , try to find a 14 bolt out of a single wheel pickup the measurements between the faces where the weels mount is wider but the measurments between the ends of the tubes themselves is narrower so you dont need to get custom floating axles , you need to grind loose and later reweld de mountingpoint for the backingplate further inside for the dually brakehubs and you need to build over the one ton bearinghubs and all the brakestuff with the exeption of the backingplate from the axle you have now ontoo the single wheel axle
the dually hubs have the mountingface a little more inside than the single wheel version the combination of the single wheel axle and dually hubs makes a C&C rearaxle

The thought did cross my mind to go for a cab and chassis rear end, however I have a friend that does a large amount of driveline work close by, I'm going to swing the project by him and see what he thinks of it.

Otherwise I'll be doing a 22" Townasty package and calling it a day.
