Whats the harm in completely pulling your torsion bars out other than a crappy ride..a couple years ago my toyota bars drug on everything untill they fell out. Just curious Ive heard about the re-keying and I plan on attemping it but I'm curious if I can just pull em.

what do you suppose will hold the truck up?

bumpstops?

shock mounts and shocks?

Eventually those will fail too and your frame will be on the ground. Re-key them, get shorter shocks, cut out all the bumpstops. You will cruise a few inches off the ground and it will ride so smooth.

Or just pull them, and watch your truck beat it self closer to the junkyard every day.

yea, if you yank em, you will pay for it. like russ said, cut your bumpstop mounts off, notch your upper shock tower for the control arm, and rekey your torshions. its a good ride and you'll be low. plus rekeyin is easy as hell, just take the adjusting bolt out, smack the part that hangs down a few times with a hammer, rotate them up then reinstall the adjusting bolts

K glad I asked..

also, take your upper and lower balljoints off the bottoms of the control arms and mount them on the top of the control arms. Youhave to grind a hump off the top of the lower arm and grind the bottom of the arm to let you put the bolts back in, but it will give you about an inch of drop and correct some of the negative camber you get. It will also let you have more shock travel= better ride.

anyone have a pic of Russ-D's Idea? Id like to see how its done. Im thinking of flipping the ball joint and cranking the torsion

What I described IS flipping the balljoints. If you were going to do it a different way, well, now at least you know the right way.
