I see you're trying to keep a stock hood with a 327. I was considering putting a 350 in my Yota and keeping a stock hood. Smog laws won't allow it, but I put a little thought into it. Just use a dry sump oiling system. Then get an oil pan (stock would be cheaper) and just cut the bottom off, until its around 1/2" to 3/4" away from the crank, and weld some sheetmetal to the bottom, and a drain plug on the corner. Will give you a motor thats likely shorter than the stock one. And it will still work just fine.
