I just recently bought 2 new fenders for my ride and i decided i didn't want to put the Ranger emblems back on them. I wanted to know if i weld a piece of sheet metal behind the holes and then fill with bondo or if i would be alright with just filling it. Also what all grit sandpaper would i need to get it back primed out right.

use dimes

there are 3 holes on each fender 2 of them you cant even stick a pencil through and the other is about the size of a dime. would welding a piece of sheet metal insid the middle whole about the size of a dime and then laying bondo over the top of it work?

no like low00 sierra said just weld slow and build it from the outside in...it will look ugly until u grind..then i like to lay a bondo coat..and since its such a small area just start with 80 than metal glaze it...80 again 180 the sand scatches out and feather real good..then 320 then prime then block 400 wet

if your scared of burning through or causing too much warpage i would just make a small filler for the dime size hole.

not to sound like an ass but save your self the the time and money and find someone that knows what they are doing. have them do it for you before you fuck it up and have to buy new fenders. ive seen it happen to to many people and i'll charge a lot more to fix what others fuck up.

get a small bolt and hold that in the hole and then tack it in and cut the excess off. then grind it soorta flush after ite all welded in

Thanks guys for all of the responses...i think i'm going to use an old fender that we have laying around to get a general idea. My only other question is after you weld it up what would be the best way to go about grinding...? sorry for all of the questions
