Im changing the front rotors and pads on my 89 b2200. I took the hub/rotor unit? off the truck. Then i took the 6 bolts off that went from the rotor to the hub. I figured it would just seperate from there, but no go. How do i get the rotor off the hub? It looks as if its 3 peices...hub-rotor-back of hub? Do they have to be pressed apart? Or is mine just rusted together?

Also, once i get it off, and put back together how much grease should i pack in there? (for the bearings)

thanks again for your help..Dee

Anybody have any ideas??

Thanks again..

Hit it with a hammer and see if that will break the rust and get it apart.

they are seperate, mine just fell apart. Hit em with a bigger hammer.

I did buy new rotors, but mazdas are differnt then say hondas, I cant just take the two screw's off and pull the rotor. You have to take the rotor/hub assemble off, take the 6 bolts off..then..i dunno. I could beat it with a hammer but i dont want to damage the bearing, if its supposed to be pressed apart. If its supposed to be "hit" apart i just need to know the "trick"
Anyways thanks for your help..anybody else changed theres before?

I had to beat mine out on my truck. Most hub and rotor setups are the same or very similar, so just beat it apart.

Russ thanks for your help. So they are 3 peices correct? hub(were the lugstuds go),rotor, and the backside whatever its called.

So long as i know they arent pressed together i dont mind beating them =)

Thanks againDee

They should beonly two pieces. The piece on the backside should be part of the hub. Basically beat the old rotor off the hub.

mine were just two pieces, the hub and the rotor. I had to change them when I put on the 4 lug hubs from mike brott (which were gorgeous) Mine literally just fell apart, but it was a california truck (no rust or corrosion anywhere.
