you can get axles made in any size, people do it everyday, it just cost money

ok, mike, i have called more shops then most people have ever called. i have called custom shops and the only god damn shop that knows how to do it is in florida and they did dave shulmans rear end, they want $1200 + shipping to shorten the axel. if you can find anyone else around nor-cal or so-cal ill give you $50.00

Axles aren't hard to shorten. I don't know about these sensors, but I used to help my uncle shorten exles all the time. Even shortened my Ford 9" and just resplined the axle. There are several ways to do this. So you don't necessarily need new axles. Did a Mazda rearend in the driveway. Just have to get the axles resplines and shortened. Easy to do on a Mill.

Whats the deal with the sensor?does it somehow affect the axles?because i know the making of the axles insnt the problem they can buidl axles for anything..have you contacted SUTTON eng thats who i send my axles too...but in all seriousness if i was to do my rear end again i would use a FORD 9" no cast pieces on the rear end easy to work with.

p.s. most of the guys with 04 f-150's with sterling 9-3/4 rear ends all have to have them shortend

Where'd they get them done?

BLACKMAGICON24S   +1y
i wish i knew, there are only a hand full of 04-f150s out there that are bagged and layd on big rims so its hard to find info from shops, i know we cant re-spline the axels because they taper up and to re-spline the axels the axel has to be straight. ill keep calling around.

you can narrow the rearend and get new axles made. we are building a 1950 ford with 2003 harley davidson ford F150 drivetrain and we narrowed the rearend 6" cost us $925 to do it. Check out the site for more pics.

I recommend finding out what the sensors do, then deciding if you need them. If not, a Ford 9" swap would save you a ton of hassle.

id say call moser engineering first. find out if new axles can be made. if they do, then order the axles, take them to a shop and say "cut it till they fit!"
