how common is it for the front bags to rub on an 89 yota,im bagging mine but i dont it to rub in the front, any pointers

You shouldn't have any problems with rubbing. Just cut the top off the steering stop on the arm. Thats the only thing my bag would have rubbed on. And it still work with the top cut off, so no worries.

On my 94 yota I had to notch the frame for the top bag mount. When I first bagged it I didnt notch it and I blew a bag it was rubbing on the bolt that holds the bottlom ball joint in. You need the bag as close to the frame as you can get it. I learned this the hard way.
