good list, altho i'd have to say 3/8" ASCO valves.. i have them in my s10 with the 4.3 v6, a lot heavier then a mazda and i hop 3-4" at 200-210psi.. with 1/2, he'd hate not being able to adjust in small incriments if wanted. Playing with switches is cool at first, but you get to where you want to adjust up and cruise.

ooh, you'll need check valves. one for each line that enters a valve of the tank. if you have one line going to all your valves, then you would need one ect...

he doesnt have to have them.. i dont, no one i know does, no problems.. if you do it right you'll never have any problems.. that shit gets expensive too at 24 bucks per check valve.

the 8" bags you're getting are too big.. for your mazda you'll want RE 6 bags up front unless you wanna do a lot of fabbing to get em in.

i only run one, because i have one line running into my valves. but if the bag pressure is greater than the tank pressure, and you hit a lift valve, the air may go the wrong way and the truck drops instead of lifts. cheap insurance vs dropping when you don't want to and ruining a fender or something.
