painting my camaro

how much supplies do i need to paint my 86' camaro. it doesn't have the body kit just the airdam and a 4" cowl induction hood. how much paint,primer,clearcoat etc,etc,etc do i need. also, i want to paint it nissan 350z blue, where do i find this color. this will be my first paintjob on a car and i want to do this right. thanks for any help.

well to get that exact color, your best bet is to go to your local nissan dealer and get the paint code from them or even order the paint from them, i would go with at least a gallon of primer because you will do a lot of priming and sanding before everything is perfect,and maybe 1qt. of an sealer, then after that 3qts of color and 3qts of clear should do you plenty. because the mix ratio is usually 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 which usually doubles the amount of paint you actually have. the MOST IMPORTANT thing to remember is to TAKE YOUR TIME do not rush a paint job or you will be quite dissappointed
