valve sizes

what does it really come down to between 1/2 and 3/8 valves? speed? control?

damn so many people hit this forum and none wanted to reply.....help alittle!

What exactly do you mean? There's the obvious answer that the size itself is different, in turn meaning larger orifice = more speed/possibly less control. Then there's sometimes a price difference depending on brand of valve.

i was just wondering what it came down to the sizes between 3/8 and 1/2.....no prices needed......so it comes down to speed and control

Yep, that's why I didnt understand the question at first.. bigger = more air flow, that simple really.

Alot of people run 1/2" fills to raise the ride faster but run 3/8" dumps to have better control when laying out

I run all 1/2 inch. The front drops fast and the rear lifts fast, but I'm good with the switches.

I have 1/2" also, just drilled out plugs to screw into dumps to get the speed just right.. and used mini ball valves to adjust the lift speed just right also. Truck dumps/lifts evenly.. but anytime in the future I'll buy 3/8" dumps to save $$.

i run 3/8s its just right for me

well... If you run 3/8's valves with 1/2in line.. your running a true 3/8's of air to your bag... running 1/2 line with 1/2 valve is practially no difference in speed/or control IMO
I'm running 1/2 Parker with 1/2 line.. but thats only b/c there was $2 difference between 1/2 and 3/8
