I just recently installed a BAD steering wheel...and it works fine except there is a clicking noise when i turn it...It is the plastic piece behind the adapter(the wires clip into it) that is causing the noise (2 clips with springs behind them) I was wondering what these pieces were, and if they are really needed...Or what i can do to solve the popping/clicking noise..

clockspring controls your airbag, horn, and anything else you had factory on the sterring wheel ie: cruise control. You don't have to have it

That's how it is on most fords anyway^^

No ive not tried customdakots...

So would it be ok you think to just break off the clips, and leave it on there...My clockspring is cracked where the clips are, so one is catching...I would take it out, but i would prefer not to have the gap...
