I hate my rear slider window.. Do I need to get a whole assembly with molding and what not or can I have the local glass guys put just a window in?

get a lexan rear window, it's cheaper....candospecialties.com

I install auto glass for a living the price dosent sound to bad. I would never put lexan in place of tempered glass just not a good idea. Make sure that the window he puts in is either ppg or a direct replacement, there are company such as C.R.Lawrence that make cheap glass that looks like hell when you intall it

THE BACK GLASS GASKET MIGHT BE ABLE TO BE USED , DEPENDS ON MODEL OF TRUCK,SOMETIMES THE SLIDER GASKET IS SMALLER THAN A FLAT TEMPERD WINDOW, YOU CAN GIVE ME A CALL AT 509-747-6947 ( SAFELITE ) I CAN PRICE THE GASKET FOR YOU, SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET A GOOD BACK GLASS FROM A WRECKING YARD, MOST OF THE TIME THEY ARE PITTED OR SCRATCHED, GIVE ME A CALL......... pretty sure the gaskets are not the same from slider to non slider but i THINK u might be able to put a solid glass in a slider molding..but it will look funny...and i would try and find a hookup for glass cause shops do a HUUUUUUGE markup on glass
