fusible link on alternator wire

I am finaly going to up grade my alternator wire, however, i saw fusible link on it....do i really need a fusible link between the alternator and the batt.? Just seeing what the word on the street was on this....

Yes!!! Any time u use a wire that runs from a power source u need to have a fuse on it
