What's up people ! New to the dually scene and am glad to have stumbled onto this site. From what I've seen so far there is plenty of good info and some MAD fab skills here ! A little about the truck. Just bought a '99 c3500 crew cab dually. Motor is a rebuilt 6.5 TD mounted to a 5 spd manual tranny with a new clutch! ( have the receipts from the PO ) BONE stock as it is a retired Penn DOT truck. Color is butt ugly safety yellow. Vinyl bench seats, rubber floors, manual doors and no A/C. Will bring it home next week and start the disassembly ! Already have a Denali front clip. Other plans is a 4 link rear with a 4 bag setup, complete interior and power door swap. I am also kicking around sectioning the roof and adding a factory sunroof from a Tahoe. Would like to achieve about 4-5" drop for daily driving, and be able to raise to close to stock height to pull my 5th wheel camper. Have a set of 4 D2600 bags with 10'7" usable stroke ?? lined up (if that sounds right) Also new to air ride ! Was told if I'm doing towing I will need a 4 bag rear setup. Also was suggested that I buy aftermarket a arms in the front. Hoping to complete the build by mid summer and do most of the work myself. Any suggestions are appreciated !
Thanks, Shawn
