have a 1996 chevy half ton pickup, been having fuel pump problems.. installed two over the past year, well the 2nd one just went out. going down the road and the whoel truck cuts off, last time i replaced the fuel pump and it ran for about 5 months n it does the same thing again.. ok is there a best fuel pump brand out there or maybe the fuel pumps at autozone n advance parts aren't working out right. Dos anybody else have this issue.. i would appreciate hearing anything concerning this matter.. just wondering if theres a better brand of fuel pump out there for this truck..

Yeah my uncle had the same problem with his 96 chevy 1/2 ton. It's not the fuel pumps. His problem was it was not getting enough power and burning the pumps up. The wires running up behind the pump were burned up.I would check that out before putting a new one in

thats exactly what this one does.. it burns up the wires around the pump, i go buy a new one and couple months it does it again, i ran new wiring , new regulator, still does it. what did your uncle do to solve his problem?

I don't know for sure right now I'll call him tomorrow and see. He had to order something from GM. That's all I know for now.I'll get back to you on that. Sound like the same promblem to me..

my shit did that once, but i put a new pump in without messing with wires and everything worked. i got a more expensive pump this time though and it seems to be better and its also not as loud.
