Unless your running huge tires on the 18s, you should'nt have any problems laying crossmember, the fenderwells are probably all that holding it up. Just about any bag setup in the rear should lay on an 18 as long as they tuck.

Im runnin 245/40s....I think i can just cut the lip of the fender....because the tires hit about halfway if not a little under. Then get rid of the fender wells

ya, with any 18's you should be able to lay. But anything bigger than that, you will probably have to narrow the rear-end, and beleive me, that is no fun. There also is a lot of stuff in the engine bay to relocate when you get the tires up inside there.

First off you have the fender flares which are inside farther then the factory fender lip. Trim the hell outta the inside fender flares, or just ditch the flares. Watch out for tearing up your tires or hitting uneven roads and bending your body panels/fenders. But to lay out crossmember on 18s some work will be needed in relocating some items off your fenderwells, moving wiring (don't wanna burn your wiring on your tires). Shouldn't have to cut to much outta your fenderwells, but to get them off and back on is alot of work.

Oh and for true laying out then you are looking at ALOT of work!!! First is Zing the frame, then if you do that, then you'll need to relocate or raise your fuel tank, exhaust, and a shit load of other items that hangs under your frame including if you are running leaf springs. Narrowing rear end. To decently tuck 18x8 you need roughly a +45 offset (flush wheel), like the front wheels on mine. So it's not like back in the day where you turn a few cranks on torsion bars and you're ready to roll low. Dakota's take some TLC to get low!!!
