i bought a weber 32/36 DGAV carb and on the mazda truckin web site it states:2. The B2200 & B2000 use a high-pressure fuel system. The Redline Weber only requires 3.5 psi Maximum. Installation of a fuel pressure regulator is necessary

do i need to buy one for my DGAV it says that the instilation is for Using a REDLINE Weber 32/36 DGEV or 38 DGES

so i need to know if i need to buy one to put this weber on my 1989 b2200 with the 2.2 engine in it.

Thanx N|ck

Yes, as far as I know all the compatable webers for the B2000, B2200, and B2600 require the same fuel pressure. The instructions that came with the carb should have the right pressure. Holley 5200s only require about 1.5-2psi anything above that and they start to run rich.

I bought my regulator at advanced auto, it was like 45 bucks. Its a holly, adjustable from 3.5 to 9 psi. works PERFECT

unless you are using an aftermarket fuel pump that grossly exceeds the pressure of the stock mechanical pump, you will be alright to just bolt it on. The stock pump sometimes has an over pressure return, the "regulator" in this case is the float spring. Unless the pressure is really high, the float can keep the inlet shut. It when you put on the super gph high pressure (8-10psi) holley pumps that you need an aftermarket regulator. Thats what weber is worried about, overpowering the float and fooding the engine.

and a not on fuel pressure regulators: most limit pressure by limiting FLOW. You could run out of gas on hard accel. The cheap ones should stay on the shelf, carter and holley both make nice ones.

but long story short, if you have the stock pump, no need for an external regulator.
