ok, I have read all the arguments about the webber conversion and I would love it... but I have Q's. I live in Oregon where I have to pass DEQ emmissions testing. 1. will this interfere with my test? also when I change out the air cleaner and stuff will I have to change the exhaust.

Any place that has emissions testing "By law" must visually inspect the vehicle and engine compartment and if any of the emissions devices have been modified it automatically fails. This includes the carburetor.

I have two articles about the Holley 5200 and Weber in the B2200 tech section on MazdaTruckin.com. There is also a lot of discussion in the forums on the matter.

I live in Hillsboro, about 15 min west of Portland.... I don't remember them opening my hood last time, just put it on the rollers and stuck a vac in the pipe, I haven't seen anything about fail for equiptment, but that could be another form.

if you have testing you better keep it legal. Atleast that way you can still drive it. You don't want it sitting in the drive way. I'd play it safe

They don't do visual inspections in the NW. And some cities don't do emissions tests at all.

my truck runs way better with the header and weber. it actually passed like it was a new motor way better than it ever did with all the stock stuff. the motor had around 200000 miles on it.

theres only certain years that they do an underhood inspection, and I think its mid 80's to early 90's. a quick call to the deq hq in portland should get ya an answer

dont worry about deq with weber, you will pass. just dont say anything they dont know if stock or aftermarket here in portland metro deq stations.
