thats what i was thinking haha theres alot that i want to do. ive had cars, sleds, bikes, never really customized a truck b4. i think its gonna be a fun project. well def a learning experience. i found the rims i want tonight. ive been pricing out the air bag kits. not sure wich site is the best too buy from. im probably gonna go with socal for the motor i guess. unless someone has some better advice.

That's no shit! Diesels are great for power and MPG, until they break, then you might as well push it out into the street and set it on fire.

i guess what i am wondering is where does a person start for the body dropping experience. i realize take the body off but i cant really find any step by step procedures. my truck is completely stock now other than some bolt on mods. but i would kinda like a list maybe of all the things i will need. for the steel and all the frame parts. Im sorry i dont mean to sound clueless but honestly i guess i am haha. ive never done anythingnlike this before and its just something i would like to try an do. where i live in ny there isnt any shops near by that does any customizing. its like back hills around here. so instead of spending all the money to ship it out and have someone do it, id like to tackle it myself and have a learning exp. in the process.

I would go to a show and ask a bunch of questions and look at how some are done. There are lots of pictures on here but you have to weed through all the bs to get to the good stuff. Its not something you can just give directions to. Every truck is different, and many different methods to achieve the outcome. You could have 20 people body drop the same truck and for the most part they would all be the same but everyone would still be different. Not saying that any of them would be wrong, but some would be better than others.

Best advice is to research, ask lots of questions, take lots of pictures and measure twice, cut once.

thanks for the advice krewzlo. i know with summer being here theres more and more auto shows coming up. hopefully i can come across some lowerd duallys. i know a few guys around my hometown that have lowered s10's that i took alook at, and let me tell ya they def look like some professional cob artist.hahah none of the things they have done i have found pics of. lol but like you say ill keep my eyes and ears open and take in all of the thoughts and ideas. and if nothing else ill post my build pics as i go and hopefully some guys on here can add some advice as i go to help me out. and after shes done who knows maybe i can take a road trip and meet up with some of yous someday.

my advice would be to start off by just getting the truck running and driving.....then bag it on the wheels that are on it.....cruise that around for alittle while and get all the bugs worked outta your bag setup....and if you've never done any kinda bag work there will be a ton of bugs to work out.....i was there at one time....after you feel confident in your bag job then add 19s,22s, or 24s whatever you wanna run.....your gonna have to redo alot of your bag setup most likely but you will know what to do at this point.....after you drive it around for awhile and do a ton of research then move onto the bodydrop.....if you try to do all that at once its gonna overwhelm you and it will never get finished.....i speak from experience on that just check out my build thread i just scrapped an almost 3 year build to start over

well thanx for the advice. i def see what ur talking about ive been up for like 3days reading millions of forum hahahaahah i posted in the mod forum. i guess i can ask here too. i called socaldiesel and ppe and acouple other places today. long story short ppe told me if i sent them my truck theyd redo the rearend-stage 5 trans- redo my motor-and custom build a twin turbo setup for around 30g's and guarentee a min of 1600 rwhp on the dyno. wich to me sounds prtty cheap for all the price list i have made. i dont know of neone that has dealt with them so i guess im looking for some insight on this. i plan on making this truck a street/.strip/show truck. not really gonna build it for hauling or plowing sno lol there is a drag strip that just opend up a couple town over from me so i thought it would b cool to have one nasty dually. around where i live theres not any tricked out diesels. a few guys with chips and that sort of thing but nothing retarded. plus i like to be different. just looking for some opinions i guess. they told me if i was gonna drop it to have it done before i send it cause they have alot of customzn that they have to do under the hood to make the turbo kit work on my motor???
