alright here goes.

the truck runs and drives perfect but..the cluster has no power which means no speedo,no turn signals, headlights, and everything else that runs through it..so first off we try to plug in the computer into the truck the one that reads codes etc..and it shows nothign as if theres no truck there..has power to it but nothing..so my electric guy says the bcm aka body control module went bad...so i know/been told these 2 went bad and need to be replaced..dealer wants about 500 for a cluster which means giving them mine and getting a new one reprogrammed with my miles etc..now i have been told also the bcm stores data on the truck like the miles,etc..is this true?can i buy these parts on ebay and expect my truck to run like normal..i dont care if the gauge shows the wrong miles than it actually has..just want a working truck....the guy i jsut got the truck from claims to have welded to it with the battery connected and caused all this madness..wether thats true or not i still got this problem..anyhelp/advice..maybe someone can ask a service tech at a dealer that knows if i can use these used parts and still be good to go..or maybe this isnt my problem all together.thanks

yes your bcm has the miles and VIN in it. what type scanner are you useing to get codes.if you get one from ebay it will need to be repro. to your truck. your best bet is to take to local dealer and let them scan with DRB to see what is going on. if it has been welded on it may have got all the computers and they are a few. the dealer may can reset. the $100.00 bucks at the dealer is a small price to pay to see what is wrong. plus if they fix it will carry a war. from dodge not the dealer. there are a lot of computers that talk too each other if one is bad it may stop a lot of stuff from working.
