I wanted to do the same thing on my subbox, but was going to use canadian hundreds. The dash and console on the dually(forgive me I dont know his name)was done in REAL money, real money is not paper, but a cotton blend....with all the bodywork done and primed, like it was said, lay down a coat of clear and start layin bills...id lay out them here and there makin sure they dont over lap, then lay more clear and do another layer and so on till the whole dash(or whatever) is covered.that way the first layers get buried in clear,so there wont be as much of an edge, and there will be awesome adhesion...as far as edges or ridges, from the bills, nothing to really worry about, when the whole dash is covered with the bills, put on about 4-6 coats of clear and once that dries, you can sand with 600-800 and reclear 4-5 coats evberything should be even like glass. It would be easier than burying heavy metalflakes. If I do end up doing my subbox(I know stealin ppls
ideas:S),Ill be making one sided copies probly at home cuz i doubt any copy place will do it for me,I was thinkin maybe with picture paper or regular paper laminated.only problems I could think of would be the paper curling or being too shiny/smooth that the clear has an adhesion problem.
I am was going to do my switch box. It is probably going to be difficult laying the bills on such a small piece.
I think getting them to fold around the corners and curves will be a bitch.....but how bout using maybe a gluestick or theat white glue we used to use in skool....maybe scuff up your box first too...
that was one thing i was concerened with was getting the bills to fold around the small curves
