Whats up everyone, the names Wil. Fellow gearhead like yourselfs i would imagine lol! I been lowering trucks for sometime now (3-S10s, & 2-C10s) but its always been stactic drop. Im new to the dually scene and been wanting to build one for some time now so I finally picked up one and now im ready to start building! 1989 3+3 Crew Cab 2WD! Hoping to lay frame on 22" Alcoas but not sure where to start.

Welcome Wil. I bought mine already built but I would start under the truck first.

not too hard to lay from from what I've read....Laying rocker is a lil harder.

Welcome- got a 89 CCD myself.

I guess I could be considered a none conformist LOL I don't really care for bodied trucks so I'm not interested in laying rockers, however, I really would like to wrap those rear fenders around a set of 22" Alcoas (unfortunately the rearend and to be narrowed or the fenders extended)

You have a couple of other options as well... You can get a set of townasty rims from Tennessee Wheel And Tire, or you could find a rear end out of a bread truck as well. It also saves you a little width if you run the stock steelies on the inside.. I wont be body droping my rig either Mine is more of a family,boat/camper/racecar towing rig.

Thanks for the the info guys! I guess ill take this out to the regular forums though instead of in the "member introduction" forum. Keep an eye open though cause i ask lots of questions, so there will be plenty of threads lol. Its nice to be a user of a forum that makes a newbie feel welcome.
