bd s-10 firewall question

ive got a question about the fire wall. do i cut 3.5 inches out of the firewall above where the transmission sits and where the frame rails are?

I stocked floored my truck so I had to only raise up the floor around the tranny. What we did was first cut around the tranny so the middle section of the floor was free, then put the cab back on the frame and then put a spacer between the tranny and the piece of floor and once we had it back in place we made filler pieces to reconnect it all together. We also had to cut out the firewall a bit where the frame was Z'ed so we just cut it and made filler pieces. We didn't exactly measure it, we made the cab fit the frame and then we smoothed it all out. It came out pretty nice looking since it all flowed together.
