Yeah when we were lookin for my rims i considered the 19.5s but once i found out about the profile and how it cant go lower than a 70 series IE, 285/70/19.5...i went ahead and found a set of 22s.

They ha e to use those thick ass semi tires cuz we looked everywhere and couldnt find someone that made a lower profile. The tire diameter will prevent u from goin significantly low. Im not sure if u plan to lay it out or just do a static drop. If u plan to stay where its at

As of right now where it's at. If I decide to go lower I'll move to different wheels. Will I be ok with what height I have and the 19.5. I don't know how it was lowered

Call a tire shop and get the diameter or height of the tire and compare it ro ur current tire diameter/height and thatll let ya know. Looks as if u can get away with something a lli higher

Smallest 19.5 is 225/70/19.5, which is 32" tall, that's taller than a 235/85/16 which is closer to 31". Tough to run 19.5's on anything lowered.

I'm seeing what you guys mean. I have found a set of aluminum 19.5. Is it still possible to have them milled like the 22.5. I would love to go bigger but the wife is pretty pissed cause of the money I've been spending on my 4wd 81 with a 6.2. Is it even possible to pick up a set of 22.5 for less than 300 a wheel. I really am wanting to stay steel cause I'm wanting a black wheel with chrome spikes and beauty rings

Yes its poss. But finding someone to mill them and they be true may be a lil tough.

Maybe Trevor at TWAT can help you out.

Steelies wont work unless you use half size truck tires which are too big. 22.5's can be had pretty cheap but always a risk of them being bent and/or stress cracks you cant see until you mill or polish. If you are at all wanting 22's dont get 19's and plan to upgrade later, 19's are tough to resell as everyone wants 22 or 24's. i spent more on my 19's than i did 24's and took a huge hit when i sold them. Do some looking and find what you want and is affordable. I would have rather waited and stuck with 16's until i could do the 24's.

Hey Nate, I have also been looking for spikes for my " stocker style " lug nuts. So far all I have come up with are 2 1/2" long skinny lug nuts, not what I wanted. As for 19.5 wheels and a dropped rig, well I did it as I could'nt find anyone else that had done it. I like the fact that I can still pull all of my trailers including a 40' gooseneck utility trailer at @ 22k loaded. My truck is static w/rear air bag assist, but I actually plan to C notch w/4 link and bag all corners. And yes, my 225/70R19.5's are 32"s tall and 8.6"s wide on 19.5 x 6.75 rims. I hope you find what your looking for, good luck with your truck! She looks good.

Theres a big difference in a 84 Chevy dually and a 00 Superduty. You CAN run a 19.5 and 225/70's, but you'll only be able to drop the front a few inchs on a square body GM.
