I knwo it's been answered many times, but what all would I need to put a carb onto a 4.3 and stuff it into a mazda?

I need like motor mounts, tranny, carb and all the info as far as like tranny tunnel and how much clearance for distributor and weverything.. If anyone has any kind of info relating to this type of engine swap help me out..

Can i put it in there and still be able to close my hood with a 2.5 inch bodydrop without cutting a whole in my hood? Will my rearend hold it? I ain't wanting a whole lot of power, just something ebtter than a mazda 2.2.

a 4.3 is just 3/4's of a 350. Really, the casting is almost the same as if they just lopped 2 cylinders off the front of a 350, so everything you would use to mount a 350 you will use on a 4.3. Tranny mount is the same pattern too.

ok, well how would I go about mounting one of those in? Would the kit from ultimate customs work?

check out my chevy 4.3 I slaped on a elderbrock aluminum intake manifould for a 4 barrel carb. Next I got a good deal on a elderbrock 600cfm carb, I found out that its too big! Im at the moment saveing up for a holly 390cfm. that should yeald the most hp out of that baby. When all said and done make sure you grab a set of shorty headders. If you dont the longer ones could prevent you from baggin the truck to the fullest. Are you planning to run a standerd tranny or auto?

how much for the 4.3 and tranny scott? i am wanting to do this also, just don't know where to start.

well thats easy... im doing the same, putting in a shift kit with a ratchet B&M shifter. Next look for a beefier rear end like a 4x4 toyota if you want to keep the 6 lug nut pattern.

You dont have to change your rear end it will work, but for how long i dont know... mine so far has lasted one hole summer of fun. im switching it this summer tho. for your hood? i dont think you will be able to close it. your options are to get a cowl inducton hood or if you look at my truck, I cut a hole in the stock hood and bolted a shaker scoop from the bottom useing rubber hose as a spacer around the bolts.
