My 97 2.3 ranger rear axle locked up this weekend. Would it be cheaper to find a new one or get this one fixed. Im in the Houston area. So any info on where would be a good place to get it fixed or where to get a new one would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would try and find an 8.8 rear end out of an explorer with rear discs from a salvage yard and swap it in.

FYI, the gen I axle will be narrower and will not have the RABS sensor in the rear end.
