simple paint job

i wanna do a simple nice cheap paint job, if i sand out factory paint, fill dents and shave what primer should i use, poly primer or do the sealer and etch primer then i just wanna shoot a single stage color and be done, what does everybody recommend for a cheap yet very nice paint job.

if you have some heavy shaving or if you are unsure of your body filler sanding skill use poly primer(gods gift to body men, spraying it with a 1.7 tip or larger.guide coat it and block it out with some 180 on a long block. then prime with some good quality primer surfacer. guide goat it and then wet sand that with some 400 and 600 finish . sand the rest of the old paint with 320 Da paper, (a da makes finer sand scratches, sealer will fill 320 da scratches. then when it comes to spraying use one coat of epoxy primer mixed as a sealer. then 2-3 coats of single stage paint. this is what i would do, it can be done differently and some people may have other opinions, but anyway good luck with it.
