How hard is it to pull out my back slider and put in a solid window?
ShavedMazda   +1y
It is simple just pull out the slider and take the solid window, wrap a small rope around the gasket place it up and pull the rope out as you work in the gasket.

Little more explanation??

take a 10lbs. hammer start hitting your rear glass, that will take it out for you. go ahead and put the rubber seal around the solid window. Then put some string like from a kite or something along that size and put in the groove on the outside of the rubber seal. Now go ahead and put the bottom part of the window in the opening the cab. From there start puuling the string slowly out of the rubber seal to allow the window to position itself into the opening. take your time dont rush, and work with a small flattip screwdriver and work the rubber seal to lay down flat. its probaly going to be hard around the corners, but dont get into a hurry .

ya i used a piece of 12 guage wire and it wuined the seal and i was wondering if the seal from the solid was the same as the slider i have 2 solids but 1 solid seal and like 3 solid seals

same seal for both windows

make sure to lube the seal with soapy water before trying to pull the string to seat it. also lube up the cab with the soapy water to make things go easier.

Have some one hold the window from the out side pushing it against the cab while your inside pulling the string

Or you can have a glass guy come out they are real cheap. And if something goes wrong its on them.
