I have a couple of questions... is it a good idea to run my 2.3 tranny with my 2.6 engine.. the reason being is because i swapped to a 2.6 motor and i've been running my 2.3 with it... doesn't seem to have problems but this tranny has always leaked (the tailshafts bent and the seal never stays put)... Anyways i have a 2.6 tranny but it has hydro clutch and i want to stick with cable... So my other question would be , can i have my transmission thats supposed to be hydro , converted to work with a clutch cable.. Otherwise , i'll have to buy a new tranny.

thats what i did , I cant help on the question since I only drove it once befoer i took it all apart for the bodydrop, Did you have to change the flywheel to work with the 2.6? I dont think you can convert a 2.6 hydro clutch to work with the cable, its on the other side and is a push rod. Ive never herd of anyone whoe has done it.

I was thinking that it was on the other side.. but i couldn't remember since the 2.3 tranny is in the truck. The only thing that sucks is like i said , that tranny's screwed up-- when i first 4 linked it i swapped to a disc brake rear axle and the driveline i was using was like 1 1/2 inches too long so it ground up that output shaft a little from the mile or so i drove it like that and now it won't let me get a seal in there right... Anyways my buddy has a 2.3 but he wants 200 for it.. and no i didn't have to change the flywheel.. IS THERE ANYONE ELSE THAT HAS RAN THE 2.6 MOTOR WITH THE 2.3 TRANS.. if there is let me know.. thanx
