Hey guys. My name is Tommy. I just picked up a dually friday and looking to redo some stuf to it. The truck is bagged with a 6 link set up in the rear. Would that be a bad set up to keep or should I redo it? Also the battery was relocated to the bed of the truck and i was wondering if it has to be. the truck was set up for 22's but i dont think I am going to go back with them. If someone can help with some of the wiring of the battery in the bed that would be nice. Right now it is ran to the bed with 2 cables. One is postive and the other is negitive. It has a oasis compressor on it and when i turn it on to fill the tanks it drops the voltage in half and after a while turne the compressor off. I was thinking a bad ground but if it has to do with how the battery is wired then i will redo it first and see. thanks

Welcome, and the power consumption sounds about right for an oasis. Thats actually a winch motor driving the compressor and they are power hogs. I believe oasis recommends a ho alt and beefed electrical.

So it would pull enough power to shut my volt meter down in the truck into the red?

Just googled oasis compressor amp draw and it says it pulls 180-190 amps whereas like a viar 380 pulls 18-20 amps so yeah without a doubt

Honestly those oasis are better suited for the offroad guys that occasionaly need a little air

either need to add an ho alt and an extra battery or 2, or simply sell the oasis and buy some vair, the oasis will fill faster and the motor is extremely well built can run it all day without cooking the motor. but you need some upgrades in order to take advantage of it. also an ho alt and extra battery/2 gives you the ability to add some audio to the truck if you want with little trouble.

also if you upgrade the wiring to 1/0 gauge welding cable running to the battery for the power and ground it will help the voltage. aswell as adding a ground from the alternator mount to the frame of the truck and the frame of the truck to the battery.

I'm an audio guy so electrical is extremely important

Ok guys instead of starting a new thread figure I would add to this one im looking for some pics. I was wondering if I could get some under the hood shots of where everyone mounted there stuff on the drivers side. Also the truck I have is bagged with cups and I was seeing if I can get a pic or two of y'all's set up. And one last picture. Under the dash on the driver side there is a grey looking box that looks like it should have stuff plugged in and I just want to make sure it has what is is suppose to. Also the truck had trailer breaks on it and I took all that off for right now and the brake lights are not working. The blinkers and running lights works bu not the brake. Any help would be nice. Thank you

Yea the oasis as mentioned above is a power hog....i have 2 big tractor batteries (1250 CA apiece) and a 250a alternator and my oasis would still make the volt meter move alittle....butif you have a hp1000 oasis it will burn up eventually....i just pulled mine off this past weekend cause motor burnt up after 9 months of service and built an edc

Do you have pics of how you converted it to an edc?

I broke it apart and added an 8 rib clutch to it from parts store....then built a mount off the side of my Cummins
