found a badass deal on suede, and have the foam to laydown a graphic under it(if i can make it look right) now my question is what do i need to use to make it have the sharp edges and stay stuck down. id prefer not to pull the headliner back out in a couple months.

and is it even feesible to ry to lay down a graphic under suede and be able to see it worth a shit? i have the 1/2" foam stuff left over from doing a guys tweed door panels but dont know if it will work with the suede(dunno if its to thick).... sorry for rambling but ive never messed with suede before and would prefer to do it at least part of the way right the first time instead of fucking up along the way, id rather learn from yalls mistakes as compared to my own .

The suede will not have the same stretch characteristics as the tweed. I would recommend using the 3/16" or 1/4" foam as the suede will not have to pull as far into the design layout. This will also prevent any wrinkles. I have used Texsuede for this and had good results. Use a good hi temp adhesive such as Dap Weldwood spray adhesive and be sure to allow each side you spray ample time to "tack up" before pressing sides together. Use the edge of a tucking tool or the handle end of a pair of shears to press the material along your cut out designs. Good Luck, I hope it turns out well!

when you lay out the graphic and your ready to gule the suede down don't spray the gule on the face of the design, but spray it on the edges and everywhere else, there is a pic of one I did on my classified upholstery ad
