i can get my hands on some 20 gauge sheetmetal for pretty cheap would this be all right to use for tail light fillers/tailgate skin/rollpan? or is it to thin? thanks

no it is to thin. i wouldn't use anything less than 18 ga.

Yeah you need to use atleast 18 guage

ok i just went and picked up a sheet of 18 gauge, cost was 65 bucks time to start metal shaping and welding

you coulda used the 20 gauge, thats about what your body panels are. its better to use the 18 ga because it will warp less.

you wont die from welding galvanized, people who build fences do the shit all day long.

but dont use galvanized because you have to completly remove the coating, or paint wont stick for shit, and it will be hard to weld with.

i used 22ga. to match about what the car was. I say go for the 20ga.
