for all you guys that are laying frame with a 91-96 dakota what are you guys doin with you gas tanks? with the front of the truck up and my rear down it looks like the back corner of the tank would drag. i'm not laying frame yet because i still have the stock wheels on but when the 18's are on i will be. should i be worried about the tank or will it be alright, looks kinda scary.

The tank will definatley sit on the ground. Mine is all scratched up from it. I will one day get a fuel cell, but until then just be carefull how you drive and dont drag the back.

I would deffinately suggest a cell or something. I drug a hole in my stock gas tank saturday and luckily it didnt catch on fire but I did have to watch a full tank of gas run out onto my drive way and at these prices for high test that sucked.

you could make use of a different vehicles gas tank, much cheaper than buying a fuel cell..mines outa 87 or so caravan. heres a picture of it, only problem was makin the guage work just right, never messed with it too much, im sure someone knows how to make it work.

the std cab tanks can either be raised in the stock location, or moved to the rear of the frame, but if moved to the rear of the frame, they may still hit the ground if the front is lifted high and the rear is dumped.
