i have a 96 ford and i made my own skin, tail light fillers, and tailgate handle filler as well. it came out ok but to do it right you have to have all of the right tools. im talking about an english wheel and a few other higher dollar set ups. it also depends on the vehicle their going on. an s10 is not hard, a square body c-10 is not hard. mine were hard because of the top of the light it has a compound curve. very difficult to taper it off correctly. i learned as i went. it was a learning experience. the first filler i did was without the use of a torch to anneal the metal (16 guage might i add) if i were to do it again i would get all the metal from grant fabrication or can-do specialties. they have some good stuff. you want little or no filler on your work. the trick is to take your time now so you dont have to slap mud on it. look at the grant fab's website. their work is top notch. it will give you an some good ideas. hope this helps
