Get a wiring harness. They are like $300 and are made to wire into your existing harness.

I think its Painless that makes the one for your truck. My friend has one for his TPI.

street and performance is one of the big companies for fuel injection... www.chevythunder.com helped me out alot for my tpi swap, but hardly any info on ls series swaps if any at all... but still check it out...www.ls1tech.com forums would probably be a good place to cruise around.uuummm...you know about the fuel pump and theres a few different options... 1) buy a aftermarket sideframe fuel pump for $500+ 2) I'm not sure what years but ford trucks used a side frame fuel pump that will actually pump the 50-60 psi you need 3)mod your fuel tank to accept a vette or camaro pump/sending assembly OR 4) (what i did) have a custom aluminum cell made to accept a vette or camaro pump/sending assembly.

I used the evap canister. I dont even know if you can do away with it or not but mine had a valve that plugged into the harness so i figured i needed it.

Are the motor mounts different between the older small blocks and the newer ones? Youll probably also have to modify your tranny crossmember, hopefully it would be just drilling a new hole. I built an adapter plate out of some 1/2" steel plate and bolted the plate to the crossmember and then went forward with it to bolt the tranny mount into it. The t-5's mounting hole was 1 1/2" forward than the stock th350.

The stock wiring harness can be used if you are good with electrical and can read schematics... the only trouble with that is... finding the schematics. But they can be had! I'm pretty good at it so i found them for my tpi and just spliced in where I needed to and cutoff other wiring that wasnt used.

There are alot of outputs for dash indicators and what not on the ecm that you can tie into and still use your factory dash indicators. And some other things also. Thats the reason why i say it is better to learn about and use the factory harness. There are circuits there that you might not have on a painless harness. PLUS Youll learn alot about the engine electronics and troubleshooting your new beast.

If the car it was in had VATS 2 (passlock) Youll need to either have your ecm reflashed and to delete the vats codes or buy a passlock bypass module which leaves more options open for security system integration. Alarm shops have these for remote start systems.

What transmission are you using? both the 4l60e and the t56 have electronic speed sensors. You will have to somehow get an electronic speedo in your cluster or just throw down $600 for a full set of pro-comps. ALTHOUGH... they do make all sorts of speedo cable adapters and such and i wouldnt be surpised if someone has came up with a module of some sort with a motor to drive a cable and reads off the electronic speed sensor.

If you are using the t56 manual there is a company out there that machines stainless steel adapters to adapt the factory gm clutch master and slave cylinder fittings(has an oring seal and a rolled pin holds the fitting in) to a 4-AN fitting if you need a longer clutch fluid line. Kinda pricey though at 90 bucks for the both of them. There are also companies that make adapters to connect AN fittings to your ls-1 fuel rail.

I'm not sure how many o2 sensors there are but youll need those including the one behind the cat and the cat HAS to be there or you will throw a code. I learned this on my 96 chevy... My cat was rattling like crazy so i took it off and beat the guts out of it. It sounded AWESOME and performed better but my engine light was always on. I think they also make bypass modules for this. The problem is they always spit out a good reading even when you might be running super rich.

As i think of more i will let you know.

i think mark and the guys at street and preformance have a vidoe on the ls1 swap as well as a lt1 swap , when i started doing the lt1 install in the blazer i called them up and they gave me all part numbers for the fuel pump and they sell a updated harness to do away with alot of useless wires even if you dont use them they have alot of information that can help they have installed hundreds of these ls1 s
