Joining to learn, lurk, and lust.

Long time custom truck fan, minitrucker since early '90's, had first truck at 14, and had it bagged/bodied/etc. shortly after high school. I sold it during college to pay some tuition, and life goes on.

I got into the sports car habit and always had a thing for VW's, so I started a VW Rabbit truck but never got past the take it apart and cut it up phase. Rust repair turned into a huge project, then marriage and a baby put that on permanent pause. Parted it out and sold what usable.

Move on a decade or so and the custom truck bug never left. Now I'm in my 30's, I've got two kids, and finally moved into a new house with a bigger garage and room to take on a bigger project. Hopefully in the next couple years I can put the dream into metal.

The current dream is an early squarebody C30 dually, bagged, and 12V Cummins swapped, done as more or less a restoration on exterior detail (full trim/ two tone, etc). Something I can cruise with the whole family, and keep functional and drag my VW track cars (and other projects) around with. These two have been my inspiration...

Welcome to the site. I live by Traverse City and am a member of Scared of Heightz out of GR. I have been with them since '97. Used to have a bagged and bodied 85 S10 longbed convertible about the same color as yours. It had a V8, Suicide doors and some mild graphics on it. Bought my dually from Berger brand new in 2000 and have been working on it ever since. Now bagged and bodied on 24" semi's.

Yeah I grew up in Lansing but remembered seeing the scared of heightz logos around when at shows or in GR. I knew a couple of guys but not real well. My truck was an '87 longbed.

Anybody have better pics or info on this one? (Besides my crappy screen cap?

Yeah that was Dave Tisch's truck out of Jackson, MI. We both rolled with the MI chapter of Exclusive Styles at the time back when that club was together.
