The problem i am having is that when the suspenion is laided out and when it all the way up the the driveshaft bolts are right up against the carrier bearing. I have heard of peps modifing the crossmember but how? Do you move it up? back? or a new one piece shaft? Any advise would be great.

what do you mean by the driveshaft bolts?

All I had to do is loosen the bolts that hold the carrier bearing to the cross member and slide the carrier bearing forward and tighten them back up and the loud knocking stoped.

(KENDALL)I have ajusted it all i can.

(CRIS) the bolts that hold the u-joint to the flange to witch the carrier bearing rides. Its hard to discribe.

THANKS TO THE BOTH OF YOU

is the driveshaft pushed into it or is just just from the angle of the shaft?

Cris- its being pushed into the metal housing of the carrier bearing. I'll get some pics of it today to show you what i cant explain. L8R

the crossmember that holds the carrier can be cut off the frame and moved up an inch to help the clearence issue or make a new cross member. it will also help with pinion angle if that is to extreme aswell

If you cut the crossmember on each side of the carrier bearing than move it up the thickness of the crossmember, then gusset the hell out of it. I did mine like that but didnt gusset the member and then one day it broke off. So make sure you gusset.
