I have a 1999 Rockford Fosgate 360a2 (360 watt RMS at 4 ohm) that I'm using for 2 10w0's. They do pretty good in my truck but get distorted at higher volumes... I was wondering if I switched to 1 10w6 and kept the same amp, how hard it would hit compared to the 10w0's... I want to switch becuase I assume it would sound better, and it would also save me a lot of space in the back of my truck.

Whats is the difference between "Dynamic Power Rating (IHF-202 Standard) - Measured at 14.4 Volts" and "Continuous Power Rating (Competition Standard) - Measured at 13.8 Battery Volts" because the 14.4 Volts it is 450 watts RMS at 4 ohm.

Also is my amp stable bridged at 2 ohm, so I could give the 10w6 more power?

Thanks!Sorry if what I said doesn't make sense or is wrong... I'm new to car audio...

I just noticed that it says its not stable at 2 ohm bridge... so nevermind that question...

well the answer is yes electronics is one of those things that if its more expensive it will be better so if you want to get a 10w6 i would do it and your amp would push one just fine but i dont know about two you would take a chance at blowing them at high volume it would overheat the voice coil

I dont plan on running two. I have 2 10w0's right now, and I want to know if just one 10w6 would hit as hard as the 2 10w0's with the same amp.

Thanks for the quick reply

acording to JL audio the 10w6 is a dual 4ohm sub so u can't hook it up at 4ohms to ur amp it can only be hooked up at 2ohms or 8ohms so u might want to get a class d stable at 2ohms

Well aint that a bitch... What would you recommend for a different sub that will be just as good? I would rather not have to buy a new amp, since I'm trying to keep cost down...

What about a 10W3V3? How would that hit compared to what I have now?

10w3v3-4 should work just fine just make sure u get a single 4ohm or dual 2ohm if ur going to use the same amp

Have you ever thaught about the box creating the distortion? what kind of enclosure are they currently in.

I'm not sure what box it's in. I bought the whole thing used from a friend's sister... It's just a standard 2 sub box, not sure on air volume, but I would assume it's right.

The 10w3v3 is 4 ohm, well you can get 2, 4 and 8, but I would get the 4 for obvious reasons. So do you think it would do almost as good as the 2 I have now? I dont want to spend the money and have less bass, well not too much less. I might just do it for the extra space in the back, and if I do get it I would get the JL box so I know it has the right air volume.

Thanks for all of the replies
