paul doesnt have any lift problems & the only camber problems that i know of are no worse than any other bagged truck lil camber & a lil toe out issue......

im working on an 89 ramcharger. ive probably taken about 4000 measurements under the front end. to keep the stock stuff, you need to either z the frame about 3" or move the lower arm's frame mount up about 3" and section the engine crossmember. thats all because the engine crossmember hangs way below frame level. if you want to body drop if (stock floored) you have alot more cutting and fabbing to do after that. myself, ill be using chevy arms/spindles/rotors with my steering and calipers. from firewall back will be 2x3x3/16". that will leave get me stock floored.

rough estimate of what is involved: move the engine and tranny up about 3" to clear the pans from dragging, build most of the frame, mount and align the chevy front stuff, modify the firewall for the motor, move the brake booster and/or swap to a smaller one, rebuild the tranny tunnel, rear floor area, fab up a new back seat, snake an exhaust system under there somehow, have a new driveshaft made, run a ton of hardline to plumb everything (air, fuel and brakes), plus a ton of other little stuff.

but, ill have a stock floored ramcharger. it'll be worth it. oh, and im giving myself until august 26th to do it (sitting pretti show in arlington, wa). ill try to take tons of pics as i go. ill hopefully be ordering up my air management tomorrow, as well as getting my trailer fenders for the back and picking up my fittings. later...

i think i z'd mine 2 inches and that was fine, may have been 2.5 cant remember, anyways a ramchargers frame is totally different then a p/u so i may be wrong on that, butyou may be supprised at how much room is under the hood... im planing on lowering my engine to help with driveline angles, im planing on building my own arms for mine as soon as i get a good set of stockers (mine are bent bad...long story lol), the drivers upper is the only one i need to get fancy with, try'n to keep from mod'ng the steering shaft, and the lowers im going to delete the strut rod and make them a true a-arm

if i can help anyone in anyway let me know...dont know much but i could always be of some help

on the 1st gen dakotas, didnt they use an a arm for the lower? unlike the fullsizes with strut'd arms. if so, could swap those over...thats my plan if they are a arms. and ill need to move the motor up 3" to clear the oil pan to the ground. z the frame to help the steering geometry some, and move the arms all up a little bit. it'll be sorta confusing but it'll lay out nice.

oh, and yes the rc frames are alot different, but the front bumper to about the tranny crossmember its all the same. after the tranny crossmember is where things change.

okay. so i got a large portion of my funding stolen and had to rethink my whole plan. ive got a killer job now, and a buddy said we can build the thing in his shop and he'll help build the frame if i help him build a new wheeler frame for his 85 yota. hella deal. anyways, it'll "probably" be all 1-5/8" or 2" DOM tubing. IRS, supra engine/tranny. custom arms...all 8 of them. exhaust will be single 3" (inline 6 engine from the supra). stock floored, or close as possible. have another guy i know tig weld up an aluminum tank as well as some other stuff. im not going to use anything from this frame except some numbers. the rest will all be new. might run a 2x3x1/4" box tube main rail instead of round tube because it will be easier to fix when it drags through, plus, more resistant to doing so since there is more steel there. im not shooting for anything fancy on wheels, 20s at the most. probably 18s for now since thats alot cheaper. and i like having some tire. i dunno yet. ill see what i can afford, and not sure how small i can go since ill have pretty big brakes (12.7" supra discs, front and rear). 17" probably as small as i can go. oh well.

but yeah, hopefully i can start crackin on the new frame soon. i do already have the trailer fenders and some of the fittings (haha, the place i ordered them from said i could take half the order now since it arrived and pay for all of it when they called with the rest in. they never called. hella got about 80 bucks worth of free hardline fittings. score!). ill order up my bags and stuff soon. need about 2 more checks for that. then the steel. and pick up a supra a few checks after that (87-92 style). use the IRS, engine, tranny, possibly the dash (i dunno, i perfer the 93-98 dash more). possibly the seats too. and im going to do everything i can to avoid losing my backseat. i love that thing. whole reason i didnt get a pickup. anyways, sorry for the very long post but i felt an update on my build was in order since its been months since i posted in this topic. later guys. also, if you know anything/much about supra engine build-ups, hit me up. i know some, but ill take anything i can find out about them.
