iam looking at a 67 mustang in really good shape far as motor gos and has had some body work ive been told to much a magnet wont stay on back end iam new to this and dont really know what to do any ideas

the magnet test is used to tell if bondo or filler has been used to repair a car

best thing to do is take it to a reputable body shop or mechanic and have them check it out

magnet test is a cop out, cuz if the filler is skimmed thin enuf, a magnet will still stick. look under the car w/ a flash light and see if i has ben repaired and look for bubbling paint.

The standards of bodywork back in the day aren't near what they are (usually) today. With these old cars you'll find a LOT of very shady bodywork to be very commonplace... sucks but true.

check the trunk floor and the floor pans for rust. if the trunk has rust i would stay away from it. it is easier to put a motor in a good car.

the truck floor is the gas tank on those cars....
