Hi everybody, my name is Sam and I'm addicted to one ton duallys. Chevy is my drug of choice but I'm not gonna knock the other guys (much). I got my latest score about 6 months ago and it's been a nightmare so far. I made the 3 and a 1/2 hour drive back in it to find out the ball joints weren't tight, the holes were wallered out pretty good. So i put new JDM 3" drop spindles and stock springs on it. Then I went to replace the helper bags that leaked and found probably the scariest thing in the world. Misused, incorrect sized brackets with WAY too small bolts holding the rear end together - loosely. So new, bigger bags, and welded brackets put in. Next up was a complete stereo rewire, still don't know why the speakers were wired into the dome light. Finally I get to drive my truck. For a month. Broken valve springs, bent pushrods, and a dinged up piston from the valve head means my motor is getting rebuilt. The plan is to bag it all the way around and drag sparks down the road, but only in designated areas of course. At some point I will definitely use the tech section and be picking some brains. I'm gonna try to put some pics up.
Wow, scary stuff! Welcome and I hope you get to work on some fun mods instead of fixing the previous owners short comings. My house has been that way, it's not fun.
looks like some of the same stuff i ran into with my last dually....thankfully my newer one is in much better shape. welcome to the site from a former okie!
