Hi guys, new guy from SoCal. I've been looking for a 92-00 CCLB dually for a little while now and there are more and more projects out there. I'm just biding my time until the right one shows up. Can't wait to share my new (to me) truck when I find it.

I picked one up back in Dec. Clean body, solid engine/trans/rear so those were def good. On the flip side, the interior needed a bit of work and the suspension/steering was worn out. It had a couple of cosmetic choices that weren't my taste so I got rid of them. Anyway, on to pics.

When I got Big Blue:

It had a funky grille and some euro tails. Blech, those were gone the first day and replaced with an OE grille and tails off a Tahoe. The PO also had quite the stereo system installed or so I'm told. Since none of it went with the truck there are holes in the doors and dash.

I scored 97 Tahoe front seats, console, 2nd row seats a week or so later and door panels out of a 94 Suburban shortly after that:

I know the rears aren't a straight bolt in affair, but I'll fab up some brackets to get them right.

Got rid of the weather worn balloon tires (245/75/16) in favor of some 225/70/16s and fixed the rear suspension. I purchased new leaf springs and a flip kit thinking it was just a pulled leaf setup. I got it apart and found it had a leaf pulled, an un-flipped flip kit and drop shackles (wtf???). I started on the front (have drop springs and drop spindles) but it needs all new ball joints and control arm bushings so I can't tear it down just yet. Anyway, I gave her a bath today and snapped a couple pics.

No valuable feedback here; just wanted to give props on a hell of a nice truck. Your cosmetic changes are much more stylish.

Where in so cal are you? I've been looking around for a while as well. Not sure if I want a square body or the site you have. In going to get one this summer. How much did you pay if you don't mind?

And I agree with Sonoma... The previous owner had questionable selling taste it looks much better now.

Thanks. I'm in the Inland Empire area. I don't remember the exact amount but it was well under 4k. I'm sure if I added another 2-3k I could have gotten one that did not need any work but I did not want to wait.

No biggie as I enjoy a project anyway

I.E... Right on, I'm in Temecula. Yea I enjoy a project too... Or as the wife calls them em, money pits. Same thing really. You going to bag it or leave it static dropped?

I'm going to leave it static. After doing air on a couple trucks, I prefer the simplicity of a static setup.

Well I thought I posted this but it disappeared.

Anyway, last Sunday I decided to replace my uca bushings and balljoints. Long story short it took 19hrs and the truck was still broken. Major bummer. Anyway, one of my buddies helped over lunch today and we got it together. It currently has some cut mystery springs and drop spindles. I can't drive anywhere like this but it looks pretty neat. I'll install my 2" drop springs this weekend to make it driveable again.

Here's a pic with cut springs before the drop spindles for reference:
