LT1

hey ive got a set of lt1 heads and was wondering how i could tell if they would fit my block its an 81 sbc block and i was told that they wouldnt fit b/c the block is an 81 and i was also told that the block was a 305 but the truck it came out of didnt come with a 305 it came with a 350 factory and the guy said he never changed it

DO SOME RESEARCH AND DECYPHER THE VIN, THAT SHOULD TELL YOU WHAT MOTOR CAME IN THE TRUCK. AS FOR THE HEADS FITTING, I DONT THINK THEY WILL.

I don't think the coolant channels on the LT heads aren't gonna line up with the ones on a Gen I block...

pretty sure you can make lt1's work, its just not worth the trouble. Get some Vortec heads, they flow awesome. Also you can check the long number on the back of the block and go to mortec.com and decode it. bo
