tailgate question

so my tailgate is pretty banged up. im getting ready to start bodyworking it to death. here is my question. would it be better to strip the tailgate to bare metal and start there or just strip the spots that need work. there is more then a handful of dents. any suggestions??

ummm maybe get a new tailgate all together and start over?

mine probably has like 10 dents/ dings, even a few in the tailgate body line, just bare metal it like they did mine and slap it up,

Find a straighter tailgate and strip that one bare and bodywork it. Unless they are just small rock dings or something. Either way, I'd go all bare with it anyways. GO buy a can of aircraft stripper, and some disposable brushes.

skin is not really my style. but thanks for the advice everyone. ill probably strip it first see how it comes out then if worse comes to worse start over with a new one.
