For aluminum make sure the unit you pick up has AC output and high frequency. The less expensive units are usually DC output only and most only have scratch start. Neither one of these will help you have any success on aluminum.You will have to spend at least $1500 for a decent unit. The Miller syncrowave 200 is good at around $2000.
I have a Miller Dynasty 200DX and I love it. New the thing cost ya about $3000 though so it is a but pricey.
