i z'ed my front 2" and im running 18's and my tire nails the a/c box..i cut out what in my way and now i have to get that fan back in. BY looking at it it has a snail design of a turbo and im wondering if i could make another snail with sheetmetal and put the fan down by my bumper and run a piece of 2-3" tube from there into my a/c box on my firewall????? i want to have it all set up so i can run a big wheel on a bodydrop and still have a/c.... what do you all think about that?? anybody got any other ideas out there besides ditching it?

im talkin about doing something more than 2" cause im in my box like 3" cause i got more rim tucking with djm arms...my tire is like an inch into the fan area right now and it will be more once the truck gets bodydropped and im sure i will go for 22s soon so im seeing if i will loose fan power with my idea since its like 5 feet away from the box

well then you have no way around it!if you say that u are going to get "22" unless you get a aftermarket hotrod ac unit!..i been thru all that bull shit you are going thru be for i took my tRuCk to da DoORS..so dont waste your time with that stock ac unit if you say you are going to get 22!

Vintage Air is one option. Mount under dash. Good luck, that is the route I am taking when my ranger is done.

hey man, i feel for ya. I'm bagging my o1' Ranger right now on 20's, and the a/c is going bye bye. be a true mini-trucker and roll with out it. I live in Phoenix, Az. where it's at least 112 every day for 6 months, and i'm not going to have one. I am seriously looking at the hot rod a/c unit to go under the dash. not a bad price either. good luck.

just a note here, you dont have to buy the fancy "hot rod" HVAC. I parted an RX7 recently and saved the HVAC, it is very compact and has standard AC fittings on it, I asked a friend at a salvage yard what he would charge for something like that and he said they usually throw that stuff away so maybe 50 bucks.

50 buck import HVAC > 500 buck Hot Rod HVAC

Look into getting something like russ said. There was a guy on here that said he used a combo of ford and toyota parts to keep his ac I believe. His sn I believe is dejavu.
