I've been on here for about an hour searching for answers to a couple simple questions, but haven't found specific answers. Hopefully you guys will help me out.

My friend just picked up a 98 Chevy 3500 dually quad cab with the 6.5 turbo diesel. He's got a 5/7 or 6/8 drop on it. Not 100% sure, he picked up the drop kit used. He wants to run 22" semi wheels on it but doesn't plan on bagging it any time soon. From what I read, he should be fine on the front with an adapter and a 265/35 tire, but the rear is where I'm confused. I assumed he would need the Cab & Chassis rear end to clear the 22's, but if he keeps the factory 16" inners, is that still true?

I know he needs hub-centric wheels. I know he'll need adapters.

The adapters poses another question. When running factory wheels, does the adapter go between the 16" and the 22" wheel?

I appreciate any and all help I can get. Thanks in advance.

adapter goes between the 16 and the 22. the rear still wont tuck with the 16 inner unless the outer 22 is a townasty wheel sold at tennessee tire and wheel. otherwise you will still need to widen fenders. cab and chassis rear end will tuck any 22 with a 16 inner..

Sweet. Thanks for the info. Anyone have any pics of static 88-98 GM's on 22's? He'd like to see the stance.
