my 6/8 western chassis parts are all in and I plan to install over the
weekend. Did a cross reference for monroe shocks vs. dropped shocks
(every monroe shock was either $20 or less). I am on the fence about doing
a small notch now or do a large notch now since I am going to bag it on 22
inch semi classics.
I own my own custom car and hot rod shop for over 20
years now so its just a matter of choice (big notch would be easier really). I found a really nice bed on Craigslist for $100 and will swap that out when I install the flip kit. The bed swap is leaning me towards the large notch and fabricating a helper spring kit to tow my gooseneck car trailer since it will be so easy to open up the bed to clear everything.
I would like to run some p30 19.5's right now for wheels. I am curious about what type of tire rub/interference issues I would run into with fender/inner fender ect with the static drop. I can do any sheet modifications I need since I specialize in metal shaping. So, I will probably just bolt up some p30's and see what happens.
I am looking for a dodge diesel for around $5000 to do a 6bt cummins with a 6 speed allison swap. I want to restore the interior to as stock as possible minus excessive amounts of sound deadening materials That's the current plan and we will see how it plays out. Lots of pics to document the resurrection will be provided
