It's been a while since I've adjusted torsion bars to lower/raise a truck. I have a 1993 isuzu pup 2wd, and I've just lowered the rear 2". I want to drop the front another inch or so. Was it clock wise or counter clock wise to lower? I do remember that I had to keep checking hight to wheel well and also had to check it again in a week to make sure that it set in place. How many turns would anyone know on the isuzu? I'm sure some of you have done this...How did it ride? Thanks man..

Should be counter-clockwise- "lefty-loosey, righty-tightey", and you're loosening the bolts on the torsion keys.
I don't know how many turns it takes to drop a specific amount, but you can go a few turns on each side and measure. Good luck!

to drop it, you loosen the bolts. if you only goin down a inch, it wont ride that bad. but if you drop it all the way, your gonna bottom out your shocks and ridin on bumpstops, thats when it will ride like crap

just rip them out and get some bags.

Thanks a bunch guys. Does it take a few times to seat them, or do I have to check them weekly.
Thanks again!

Once they're adjusted, they should stay where you leave them. it may take a bit of driving to get the truck to settle to its final height, but that should be within 1-2 minutes. Good luck!

Phil,

I can't recall if I had to lift the front of the truck up or not. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that I did, to take the tension off the bars itself. I had a friend help me at the time, and that was over 10 years ago. And, do I have to loosen a top nut?
I'm highly technical on electrical info. and I can take it apart, fix it, and assemble it back together....but as far as suspension on a vehicle is concerned, I'm pretty much blind. But also cautious. Could you point me to a link with a few pics on like a "how to" kind of link?
I don't want to slam it....I simply just want to lower the wheel well an inch to an 1 1/2" max.
Thanks man,

theres is a torsion hanger type thing that the bolt goes into, its prolly mid way in the cab, a foot in from the rocker. loosen it. dont necessarily have to take the weight of it, but it helps for clearance issues if ur a big dude tryna get under it LOL. its literally just loosening a bolt. it takes quite a few turns to drop it down a good bit. try 3 full turns at a time.
