ok i have an 86 4runner 4x4 i want to bag it so itll lay flat out on 18s.... wat will all be involved to change it to 2wd?? help plz...thnx

main thing is to get rid of the 4x4 tranny. if any 2wd trannys bolt up, you should be able to get away clean. if not a complete swap may be needed..... find a donor taco and but your 4 runner body on in place of the taco's. what ever floats your boat or hurts your wallet the least

why would he want to put a taco front end on a EIGHTY SIX -- 86 4 runner ? I know Bobby at LocoMotive did a conversion a few years ago, might want to give him a call

would it be easier to find an 86 2wd donor pickup and just cut the front frame clip off with all the suspension and put in the 2wd tranny.... or is the suspension the same?

Yea, 2WD pick-up front clip(firewall forward)-2WD P/U Trans-2WD P/U Axle-2WD P/U Drivelineand...Other things i'm sure, but those are the biggest pieces you need, to start you out

And no matter how you do it, its a bitch, especially the way the frame drops down in back in front of the axle

Depending on your fab skills, doin a firewall back with the new 2WD clip would be your best bet :/

Get a 2wd front clip, build a frame back from that clip, and swap the tranny to a 2wd one. Its probably not the easiest but thats the way i would do it. My
